The systematic rape of Madagascar - YouTube video

This video presents an update of the situation in Madagascar. The author describes how, even though the transitional government signed a decree in March 2010 implementing a ban on felling, transportation and export of all precious timbers illegally sourced from the country's protected areas is continuing.

Click here for a link to the video (2 minutes, 40 seconds).

To see an Environmental Investigation Agency video clip in which timber buyers in China claim to deal 'directly with the president of Madagascar' and to read more about the discovery of 10,000 people currently pillaging Masoala National Park, follow this link to Wild Madagascar (on mongabay.com).
