LAOS VPA NEGOTIATIONS


Negotiations opened in late 2012, with the first formal negotiation expected to take place in the second half of 2013. There are major challenges to be faced related to civil society participation, land use and large scale forest area conversion, timber exports to Vietnam, and recent human rights issues.
