I am responsible for all aspects of Bernhardt Furniture's environmental footprint. Part of this responsibility is to create and implement programmes to control and satisfy all federal and state reporting for emissions/GHGs, hazardous waste, solid waste, water and energy conservation. This includes all facilities and products. I am responsible for implementing programmes to not only address the legalities of the US Lacey Act, but also have been responsible for implementing our due care programme. Part of this programme has been to create a guidance document for all of our vendors that is country-specific. Obviously my most pressing professional interest is in shrinking our environmnental footprint both physically and back up the supply chain through our suppliers.
