I carry out research on forest governance, with a focus on the Congo Basin.
My related research interests include: governance theory (especially as it applies to Africa), network governance, multi-stakeholder processes, complex adaptive systems, payment for ecosystem services (REDD+), role of aid in development (aid effectiveness etc.), formal and informal logging sector, regional and international trade in forest products, energy (charcoal, biomass and alternatives).
