My current research focuses on peace parks and transboundary community conservation, particularly on the enviromental peacebuilding and resilience (to conflict, political instability or environmental change) potential of collaborative conservation, and legal frameworks for transfrontier collaborative conservation for peace (environmental, social and international). I am involved in peace park initiatives in Central America and Central Africa. I have also done research on international environmental crimes (e.g., ecocide, natural resources trafficking, environmental war crimes, etc.), and have a special interest in cooperation for sustainable natural resources management, monitoring, enforcement and justice.
